Accessibility statement for Check plant health information and import rules

This service is part of the wider GOV.UK website. There's a separate accessibility statement for the main GOV.UK website.

This page only contains information about the Check plant health information and import rules service, available at Check plant health information and import rules.

Using this service

This service is run by the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs and Animal and Plant Health. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this service. For example, that means you should be able to zoom in up to 400% without the text spilling off the screen.

We've also made the text in the service as simple as possible to understand.

AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.

How accessible this service is

The service uses common styles, patterns and components from the GOV.UK Design System which are widely regarded as accessible.

We know some parts of this service are not fully accessible:

  • the autocomplete input field is not structured or labelled correctly which will make it hard for screen reader and voice control users to use.

Feedback and contact information

If you find any problems not listed on this page or think we're not meeting accessibility requirements, email us at plantpestsrisks@defra.gov.uk.

Enforcement procedure

The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) is responsible for enforcing the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018 (the 'accessibility regulations'). If you're not happy with how we respond to your complaint, contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS).

Technical information about this service's accessibility

The Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs is committed to making this service accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.

Compliance status

This service is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AA standard, due to the non-compliances listed below.

Non-accessible content

The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.

Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations

  • The autocomplete input field is not structured or labelled correctly. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.3.1 (Info and Relationships) and 4.1.2 (Name, Role, Value). We plan to fix this in 2024.

What we're doing to improve accessibility

We will continue to iterate the design of the service, with accessibility considerations being made at each stage.
